WiFi: Hotspot

Lately, people always talking about wireless technology. As we are now moving towards the ‘internet-everywhere’ (mobile lifestyle) term. But do you know what is Wireless?

The term “wireless” should not be confused with the term “cordless”, which is generally used to refer to powered devices that are able to operate from a portable power source (e.g., a battery pack) without any cable or cord to limit the mobility of the cordless device through a connection to the mains power supply.

Wireless Computer Network ada 2 jenis:

1. Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN)

  • IEEE 802.11 branded as WiFi
  • HIPERLAN
  • 2. Wireless Metropolitan Area Networks (WMAN) and Broadband Fixed Access (BWA)

  • LMDS
  • WiMAX
  • HIPERMAN
  • Wireless yang aku nak cakap kat sini is WiFi which is use for my tmnet hotspot service. We are now using 802.11b/g technology yang gune 2.4GHz band. This 2.4Ghz ni sama la macam band yang digunakan utk microwave, cordless telephone, Bluetooth ataupun apa2 device yang gunekan band yang sama. Thats why la, kalau ada org gunekan that tools at the same area, akan ada interference. But, it depends on which channel yang our access point gune & that other device gune. But, intermittent maybe la… tapi takde la teruk sangat..

(korg bayangkan handphone la, kengkadang, kite dapat low signal and full signal gak kan?). Hmm.. ape lagi ek..? Buat mase ni, itu sahajalah yang boleh di share..

(yang ni bole la kan masuk dlm category article kan.. ehhehe)

In the near future.. there’ll be no more hotspot.. wireless internet will be accessible just anywhere..

ehem… yups.. you’re right.. i cant wait to see the technology to come over to Malaysia.. who’s the provider… and… i want to see, how many complaints will they received.. >:)

Hmm… bluetooth should be also considered as an important wireless technology. The concept of Personal Area Networks (PANs) running on various CES should never be discounted. Wireless headsets, wireless headphones are example of bluetooth. :)

hi 3215.. thanks for ur comment in here.. yes, i do consider bluetooth as wireless technolgy, that use 2.4GHz band. I may add it up later. Actually i just want to mention about my tmnet hotspot technology. But the title too broad for what i want to talk about. (will change the title then)

tm hotspot sucks. elsewhere is already with t2/t3. 3g? too expensive. hsdpa? 3-4 times the speed but not worth the penny. 802.11a/b/g will be so last week when .11n steps in. so as dvd will be so very outdated come blu-ray to every pc/laptops. peace

thanks palmyra for your comment.. we are alert of the technology, but.. just wait and see… ;)
