My Birthday & Kundasang

“Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to Azurt…. Happy Birthday to me!”

I am 25 years old this year. I felt like it was just yesterday I took my SPM examination. I felt like it was just yesterday my mom told me to study hard. I felt like it was just yesterday my mom gave me money as my allowance. I felt like it was just yesterday I sat in a classroom, listening to my lecturer and can’t wait to get out of that classroom. I felt like it was just yesterday I got only RM1 in my purse to survive for the next three days living in the campus. I felt like it was just yesterday I have to get a job for my semester break. I felt like it was just yesterday my occupation is a student.

Today, I don’t have to think about my allowance, I don’t have to think about surviving with RM1, I don’t have to think about assignment, I don’t have to think about what to do when I graduate because I got what I want to be. I thank God so very much for all the gifts. I am grateful for what I have now and continue thanking God for all these.

The 25th Bday cake

I celebrated my birthday in my hometown and invited all my closest friends for some bbq party. I am so happy that all of them able to come over and sleep with me in my room. They are Salina, Irna, Harba Aini and Shima. And the guy friends came a little bit late, as usual, they rarely can come on the time. They’ve been our main topic of that night.

My first birthday present

I forgot to capture pictures of us doing the bbq because I was busy chatting with all of them, since it was a once in while gathering. But thank God, I was able to capture my birthday cake! :P . After the cutting cake session, one of them grabs some of the chocolate cake mud and sticks it on my cheek. She was so darn brave of doing it on my face! I can’t wait long to do revenge, all of them get some of the chocolate mud. Ha ha ha. And it was a ‘wild’ party though.

I love them for staying until 12 mid night just to wish me Happy Birthday, because I did the bbq on Saturday evening (1st March). Thank you guys for all the effort and the Lamb grill was so delicious!

I went to another part of Sabah that I haven’t reach yet, and it was Kundasang. It is located 6km away from Kinabalu National Park. Kundasang is famous of their fresh vegetable market that opens 7 days a week.

You can see Mount Kinabalu clearly from Kundasang and I recommend for all SLR freak to come over to this place and experience the beauty of Mount Kinabalu and the surrounding. The temperature is more like Genting Highland, but the air a little bit different from Genting Highland, because I was inhaling a more fresh air there. I suggest you to come to Kinabalu Pine Resort and see Mount Kinabalu in one piece from there! Owh, magnificent!

On the way back down the hill from Kundasang, I found another market that sell all the locally made of bag, from vary kind of material like cotton, beads and rattan.

I was successfully bought 5 bags. One of it for me, two of it I gave to my officemate and housemate as a souvenir, and another two were sold to my housemate’s cousin (making money huh?).Overall, I made a very meaningful holiday this time in Sabah. One was because I celebrating my first ever birthday celebration at my house. Secondly was because I can make my mom not cry when I said I’m going back to KL tomorrow mom. :)

Motivations quote of the day

I was thinking to stop bloging and let the Admin do whatever the Admin want to do with this site, but I revised all the statements given, I don’t even care of what you want to say, just say it.

I started to begin my new life with something that can lead me to victory. As I googled around and searching for a keyword “quote”, there are a lots of motivations quote I found. Most of them really lift me up and push me to be even stronger. Let me quote some of them.

1.)Be willing to leave your comfort zone. The greatest barrier to achieving your potential is your comfort zone. Great things happen when you make friends with your discomfort zone.

- I do agree with this statement. I will apply this to my life!

2.)Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Wisdom helps us avoid making mistakes and comes from making a million of them.

- So true. If we didn’t make any mistake, we will not know what is the BEST way to make it right.

3.)Don’t indulge in self-limiting thinking. Think empowering, expansive thoughts.

- Most of the time I can’t give my best shot to every tasks given to me, because I’m lack of knowledge of that particular thingy. I have to focus and learn about that thing and take my own sweet time to master the tasks. The limitations are in work life, there are no such things as ‘taking your own sweet time’ or ‘learning’ or ‘focus’ on ONE particular thing. Because, at every seconds, there’ll always be another ‘urgent’ task to submit, another ‘urgent’ meeting that we have to attend. At the end of the day, we’ll forget about what we have to do at first and we’ll tend to lag down what is the prior.

4.) Choose to be happy. Happy people are easily motivated. Happiness is your birthright so don’t settle for anything else.

- Agree with this!

5.)Spend at least one hour a day in self-development. Read good books or listen to inspiring tapes. Driving to and from work provides an excellent opportunity to listen to self-improvement tapes.

- I always wish to do this everyday, because I know this will help. But I know I can’t do it because I use to wake up late. But I have another way of motivating myself, by smiling to my self at the mirror everyday, and told myself that I’m grateful to be Arbaah Zakaria.

6.)Train yourself to finish what you start. So many of us become scattered as we try to accomplish a task. Finish one task before you begin another.

- I always do this to all the tasks given, but it the point that I gave at #3 turned my working principal the other way.

7.)Live fully in the present moment. When you live in the past or the future you aren’t able to make things happen in the present.

- Will take note on this.

8.)Commit yourself to joy. C.S. Lewis once said, ” Joy is the serious business of heaven.”

- hmmmm.. I don’t know how to elaborate this.

9.)Never quit when you experience a setback or frustration. Success could be just around the corner.

- Thank God! Will take note on this too.

10.)Dare to dream big dreams. If there is anything to the law of expectation then we are moving in the direction of our dreams, goals and expectations.

- :)

So… Whatever dude!
